Frequently Asked Questions

What is a documentary wedding photographer?”

I am someone who prioritizes candid photos over poses. I capture your day as it’s occurring. There is no posing unless requested.

It’s a storytelling approach through my lens. I capture moments of your family, your friends, you. There’s no redos. My approach is quick, thoughtful, and interactive. I talk to your guests, your family, you so they feel comfortable around me and my camera…. All that being said, I make sure that the candids I take are flattering, well lit, and true to your day.

“Do you travel?”

Yes!! 90% of my work is travel, I travel internationally as well!

“Can we still take posed portraits?”

Yes, this is your day. Whatever you want goes. True documentary style is candid only approach.

However, if you want family photos or portraits together I can definitely do that.

When it comes to posing you for portraits, I will lean into guided movement and prompts rather than poses.

I also will prompt you based on your interaction with each other.

I don’t want you to receive a gallery of beautiful candid images from your day and then see some random poses stuck in.

So, yes, we can take portraits but they will be “plandids” so they blend in with the rest of your images!

“Do you shoot on dual cards?”

Yes, and I back up to my computer and an external hard drive as well. Your photos are safe with me!

“Do you include sneak peeks?”

Yes, all of my couples receive sneak peeks within 24-48 hours after their wedding day.

“What’s your standard delivery time?”

All of my weddings are delivered in 6-8 weeks. I take limited weddings per year so I can expedite my clients galleries.
